User:ديفيد_عادل_وهبة_خليل_2 created a wrong category. The vicemayor of Florence is Giachi. Gachi sounds a very rare surname in Italian. If this means that I left by mistake a red link somewhere is possible but I though i already removed them. It was inserted by mistake, never created, removed, the correct category was created, and the description states "Giachi". I was probably distracted by something, I remember I spent 15 minutes trying to find a decent third-party bibliometric ID for a wikidata item to connect to the category, and I couldn't find it, she has a publication on wikidata but no SCOPUS profile yet, it happens in her field. maybe I lost track there. But I do leave a lot of information in the files, enough to clearly spot the correct name. I mean, if I create a red category that is inserted, I click on the files, so I would have spot immediately that it was a typo. that's why i leave so many information in the first place. Done it took one second with cat-a-lot to remove it. To be honest, I though I did that already, maybe there was a connection problem that night. In any case User:ديفيد_عادل_وهبة_خليل_2 a left over red link is no big problem per se, I would have noticed myself reusing those files I suspect at a future event at the lab of professor Banci in few months.

If I might suggest, when you create categories from red links please look inside the files which will be included there at least once. You would have noticed, opening the file, that it was a typo. If you don't know a language, leave it there or ask. I am aware Commons has a huge backlog and everybody is trying to do their best... I hope structured data will help us to deal it with this more efficiently than now, but "fast-pace" editing is what gave us amount of files to organize, and mistake to correct in the first place so it is not going to be the solution. I feel more and more frustrated to spend hours to add parent categories, look for coordinates, create new categories, improving wikidata connection all manually to end up again in a chain of these events. Of course when you don't look for geoocordinates, information on line and so on you have much more time to notice your correction to a typo didn't occur as you though. It's funny that if I uploaded the same files with much less information so more time to spot that typo (even if perfectly visible just opening the file), it would have been better from this perspective. Something here on Commons is clearly not working at a systemic level, IMHO.

So when something is in the auto-completion of the "Search Terms:" search bar on VIAF but it's not found with a direct enter (if I type Cristina Giachi on VIAF, "no heading found for") it is still possible to find the VIAF ID. Structured Data - development update, March 2019[edit]

A development update for the current work by the Structured Data on Commons team:

After the release of multilingual file captions, work began on getting depicts and other statements ready for release. These were originally scheduled for release in February and into March, however there are currently two major blockers to finishing this work (T215642, T217157). We will know more next week about when depicts and statements can likely be ready for testing and then release; until then I've tentatively updated the release schedule.

Once the depicts feature is ready for testing, it will take place in two stages on TestCommons. The first is checking the very basics; is the design comfortable, how does the simple workflow of adding/editing/removing statements work, and building up help and process pages from there. The second part is a more detailed test of depicts and other statements, checking the edge-case examples of using the features, bugs that did not come up during simple testing, etc. Additionally we'll be looking with the community for bugs in interaction with bots, gadgets, and other scripts once the features are live on Commons. Please let me know if you're interesting in helping test and fix these bugs if they show up upon release, it is really hard to find them in a test environment or, in some cases, bugs won't show up in a testing environment at all.

One new thing is definitely coming within the next few weeks, pending testing: the ability to search for captions. This is done using the inlabel keyword in search strings, and will be the first step in helping users find content that is specifically structured data. I'll post a notice when that feature is live and ready for use.

Carlo Dani scusa ma sono all'estero con poca rete. Guarda il diff che ti ho mandato. Devi andare nella sezione "altri progetti" e mettere a sinistra "commons" e nel box "category:X". A quel punto inserendo l'Infobox saprà da quale elemento importare dati. Poi ti dovrei spiegare perché commons non ha una sezione a parte come altre piattaforme e come mai si usa a volte collegare alle gallerie e a volte alle categorie, ma lo farei un'altra volta. Structured Data - early depicts testing[edit]

The Structured Data on Commons development team has the very basic version of depicts statements available for early testing on Test-Commons. You can add very basic depicts statements to the file page by going into the new “Structured Data” tab located below the "Open in Media Viewer button." You can use the Latest Files link in the left side nav bar to select existing images, or use the UploadWizard to upload new ones to test with (although those images won’t actually show up on the site). The test site is not a fully functional replica of Commons, so there may be some overall problems in using the site, but you should be able to get a general idea of what using the feature is like.

Early next week I will call for broad, community-wide testing of the feature similar to what we did for Captions, with instructions for testing, known bugs, and a dedicated space to discuss the feature as well as a simple help page for using statements. Until then, you're welcome to post on the SDC talk page with what you might find while testing depicts.

Goddyliz hi! The competition is in November. So far, i doubt any African subsaharian country will have a national jury, but in principle it is possible. If your country does not have an involved chapter or UG you will be asked to be a second-level international juror. In practice, you will be listed in this page and you will evaluate all the images coming from the "rest of the world". Do you like the idea? Last year I could only find an archeologist from Kenya and a biologist who has south African citizenship to represent Africa, we only had some images from Kenya if I remember correctly. Goddyliz your country did not ask to an organizing country so far (preminary requestes come from Portugal, Switzerland, Russia, Australia, Russia...), but it could. If it does not, the upload will be still possible, there is just no national prize and no national jury and what is uploaded goes directly to a general category where it is competing for the international prizes. You can always ask your local chapter to be part of WSC2019 with a full national competition, but beware that the international team has not enough manpower to fill any gaps, we had complicated situations of countries who left at the middle of the process last edition, so be sure your country is really motivated. Ho appena caricato su Wikipedia questo file inerente Andrea Camilleri; essendo il file datato 1998 - e quindi posteriore al 1975, data-limite per il PD-Italy qui su Commons - l'ho per l'appunto caricato esclusivamente nell'enciclopedia... però, senza alcuna azione da parte mia, me lo sono ritrovato immediatamente duplicato qui su Commons (File:Andrea Camilleri (Roma, 1998).jpg), e per giunta la cosa viene riportata come fatta da... me! User:Danyele questa è nuova anche per me. Per carità era ora che velocizzassero i meccanismi di sincronizzazione quando i file sono dichiarati sicuri come licenze (e appunto siamo dopo il 1976 quindi non lo è), ma non sapevo nulla. Mi sa che devi chiedere al bar. Escludo comunque che sia una preferenza dell'utente. Io poi figurati non carico mai nulla in locale. Meglio se chiedi al bar. Non ricordo nessuna discussione in merito. Fra i nuovi beni già trascritti abbiamo proprietà da Aulla, Comano, Lucca, Careggine, Coreglia Antelminelli, San Miniato, Calcinaia, Cascina, Pontedera, Ponsacco, Capannoli, Pomarance, Prato, Carmignano, Poggio a Caiano, Cantagallo, Vernio, Sesto Fiorentino, Scarperia e San Piero, Rignano sull'Arno, San Godenzo, Barberino Tavernelle, Dicomano, Fucecchio, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Santa Fiora, Castell'Azzarra e nuove adesioni da Pescia e Piombino.

Campaign e WLC 2019[edit]

Ciao! Stasera ho dato un'occhiata ai nostri link Campaign per vedere di cominciare a categorizzare qualche immagine, tuttavia ne ho trovate solo due in Grecia (in generale, mi pare che in molti paesi, Italia esclusa ovviamente, finora sia stato caricato molto molto poco). Più che altro, ho notato il seguente problema: le pagine Campaign mostrano soltanto le ultime circa 20 immagini caricate e poi, per tutte le precedenti, rimandano alla categoria corrispondente, che però contiene anche le immagini di tutte le edizioni precedenti delle rispettive WLM. Dunque, o c'è un modo di ottenere che la pagina Campaign mostri almeno 100 o 200 file per pagina, oppure bisogna trovare un modo di filtrare i file contenuti nelle categorie per anno di caricamento, altrimenti vedo molto difficile la missione di selezionare i file di nostro interesse. User:Epìdosis ti stavo per scrivere la stessa cosa, sta categorizzando anche io (mi son confuso ed erano foto del 2018). Structured Data - computer-aided tagging[edit]

The development team is starting work on one of the last planned features for SDC v1.0, a lightweight tool to suggest depicts tags for images. I've published a project page for it, please have a look. I plan to share this page with everyone on Commons much more broadly in the coming days. The tool has been carefully designed to try to not increase any workload on Commons volunteers; for starters, it will be opt-in for auto-confirmed users only and will not generate any sort of backlog here on Commons. Additionally, the tool is highly privacy-minded for the contributors and publicly-minded for the third party being used, in this case Google. The implementation and usage notes contain more information about these and other potential concerns as a starting place. It's really important that the tool is implemented properly from the start, so feedback is welcome. Questions, comments, concerns are welcome on the talk page and I will get answers as quickly as possible as things come up. Sigla provincia di Massa Carrara[edit]

Ciao, ti volevo segnalare che la sigla della provincia di Massa Carrara è MS, ma nell'archivio delle autorizzazioni ricevute risulta MC (che invece è Macerata): questa è la cartella di Carrara con MC, questa è la cartella di Aulla con MC, mentre Comano ha la sigla giusta MS. Lombres non posso correggere e per il resto non ho ancora finito di verificare le cartelle con le autorizzazioni in quella provincia, cioè la fase in cui scarico i documenti effettivi in mano a WMI che potrebbe non essere alcuni d quelli usati da me. Quindi scusa se non avevo notato. Ma sai non è la prima volta che ci si trovano errori, p.e. Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
To perform file name swaps.
When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. Dear Alexmar, can you explain to me why these coats of arms like the one mentioned above are "obviously ineligible" in the Wiki Science Competition ? After all heraldry is as much a part of history as archaeology, and the drawings themselves are dating back till 1890 - they are historic testimonies themselves. Xenophon archeology is traditionally included, since the first editions of the competitions (I was not involved at the time) but images that are kept are usual related to images of people at work or reconstructions that requires something loosely scientific as an approach. For example a map produced using for example sampling of grounds or orographic surveys and analysis of artifacts in a laboratory. Descriptions of technological approaches are also included as well, like new method of representations. Something like that. These files of coat of arms looked more as the product of a careful research in a library in a field that is quite far away from the examples you can find on the international or national description pages of WSC.

I can keep them there but they will never be picked as finalists, after more than 12000 files I think I can predict that. I mean, sometimes people keep more or less but I wouldn't be optimistic. I would have kept models or relief-maps, but in the end I am only skipping some workload for the jurors based on an averaged experience, and keep in mind that I am tolerant, if I can give the jurors more role in the clean up of the very first step, but I am also committed to reduce their workload so they have more time to check carefully the files. The link of unsuitable files is always given by mail to the jurors if they want to double check, in any case. Some people are just quite busy so it's a sign of respect to perform a little clean up.

So in the end, I don't think they have great chances but I can keep them, link all of them to the jurors of the international second-level jury and voilà. --Alexmar983 (talk) 23:20, 1 January 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Stiamo organizzando Wiki Loves Monuments per il 2020.

Il concorso si tiene a settembre ma ci muoviamo con anticipo. Purtroppo non all'inizio della primavera come altri anni a causa dell'emergenza COVID-19, ma abbiamo iniziato a fine maggio dopo una pausa di due mesi. Puoi consultare in questa pagina il lavoro in corso.

Ci sono monumenti (o intere amministrazioni) che mancano vicino alla tua zona di interesse? Fallo presente e vedremo di fare il possibile!

Prossimo aggiornamento a inizio luglio, con i comuni nuovi sicuramente aderenti e le integrazioni.

Famiglie senesi di Buonconvento[edit]

Ciao. Ho trovato solo quattro riscontri attendibili (tutti presenti nella prima immagine, nessuno nella seconda): Beccafumi (stemma con la banda caricata di tre stelle di sei punte), Boninsegni (scaglione acompagnato da tre rocchi di scacchiere), Docci (leone che tiene la clava), Malavolti (scala con quattro scalini). Per gli altri non sono riuscito a individuare dei cognomi presenti nel mio sito. Per informazione: il palazzo risulta in vendita a solo 750.000 € (se decidi di comprarlo fatti dare l'elenco dei podestà dal notaio). Continua la preparazione di Wiki Loves Monuments per il 2020.

Manca una settimana alla partenza e per chi fosse già in giro ricordiamo le nuove località aderenti, già riportate nelle nostre liste in costante aggiornamento.

Nel 2020 hanno completato l'iter di ampliamento le amministrazioni di Cascina, Pomarance, Pescia, Empoli, San Quirico d'Orcia, Chiusi, Santa Fiora e Piombino, mentre hanno aderito per la prima volta a tempo indefinito il Museo delle Aviotruppe di Pisa e i comuni di Pescaglia, Gallicano, Camaiore, Santa Croce sull'Arno, Casale Marittimo, Quarrata, Montelupo Fiorentino, Buonconvento, Pratovecchio Stia, Sansepolcro, Castiglion Fiorentino, Anghiari, Badia Tedalda e Campiglia Marittima. Ci sono anche adesioni solo per il 2020 di alcune dimore storiche attorno a Pisa.

Risultano al momento richieste formali o informali di partecipazione o ampliamento della copertura da un'altra ventina di enti e amministrazioni, alcune delle quali potrebbero concretizzarsi nelle prossime due settimane. Fate attenzione che alcune delle adesioni solo per l'edizione 2019 nel nord della provincia di Prato e del comune di Massa non saranno probabilmente confermate, ma non sono ancora state rimosse dalle liste.

Il prossimo aggiornamento riporterà i volantini in più lingue e gli ultimi sviluppi sulle adesioni.

Septembrie 2020: A început Wiki Loves Monuments în România![edit]

Deși trecem prin momente dificile în aceste vremuri imprevizibile generate de pandemia de COVID-19, competiția Wiki Loves Monuments are loc și anul acesta, implicit și în România.

Am fi încântați dacă ați participa și în acest an la documentarea fotografică a patrimoniului nostru cultural construit. Întrucât o carantină nu este programată în România, puteți să ieșiți în continuare să faceți fotografii - luând toate măsurile de siguranță recomandate de autoritățile locale de sănătate. Dacă preferați să evitați ieșirile, cu siguranță aveți fotografii cu monumente înregistrate pe calculator din ultima călătorie! Aceasta este o oportunitate excelentă de a le oferi o a doua viață prin concursului Wiki Loves Monuments. Pe lângă faptul că vor fi vizibile pentru toată lumea, fotografiile dumneavoastră ar putea reprezenta România în competiția internațională. De asemenea ele pot apărea în diverse articole la Wikipedia și pot contribui la conservarea online a patrimoniului cultural și istoric al României.

Gazie alla preparazione e al vostro impegno, WLM è un successo in regione anche per questa edizione. Siamo stabilmente primi per caricamenti a livello nazionale: qui potete vedere alcune statistiche. Al momento risultano più reattive le province di Livorno, Siena, Pisa, Prato e Firenze.

Fra i nuovi beni aderenti confermati, e inseriti nelle liste, segnaliamo i comuni di Castel del Piano, Montignoso e la Domus Mazziniana di Pisa. Ci sono nuovi beni anche dal comune di Santa Fiora. Sono comunque in corso le verifiche sulla proprietà di alcuni edifici religiosi. C'è invece un aggiornamento nella lista di San Vincenzo, che aveva autorizzato annualmente nel 2019 e ha ridotto i beni aderenti. Per quanto riguarda le foto panoramiche, vengono smistate direttamente nelle categorie dei comuni e richiedono maggiore manutenzione, quindi vi preghiamo se possibile la cortesia di posticipare il loro caricamento a fine mese quando avremo più tempo di occuparcene.

Ogni giorno nel tardo pomeriggio o prima serata solo su Twitter e Facebook (gruppo ToscanaWiki) viene inoltre postata una foto fra quelle giunte prediligendo variabilità di luogo e tema.

Lombres sì lo è probabilmente, ho visto anche io e sto chiedendo. Non c'erano lì esposizioni permanenti gli anni passati. Però lo segnalerò solo al prossimo turno ai giurati di rimuoverle, devo per scrupolo sentire il comune. Non ho tempo invece di segnalare ai giurati tutti questi casi critici, incluse chiese che non sono dei comuni e che l'ufficio di Milano non ha rimosso, e non ci son riuscito nemmeno io ancora perché faccio fede al comune fino a prova a contraria. In breve, io le sto appuntando e poi quando tutti voteranno le stesse foto, le segnalerò fra quelle rimaste. Montage load errors[edit]

Hi Alex, I was just reviewing the Montage logs tonight and I noticed you were having some trouble getting files loaded. I just deployed what I believe should fix it, so feel free to give it another go. Note that this was an issue in rendering warnings about a few files that couldn't be loaded for other reasons:

file "File:Xxii_dinastia,_libro_dei_morti_di_penmaati,_xxii_dinastia.jpg" does not exist, please check that its name is spelled correctly, that it has not been renamed or removed
file "File:Vista_di_Stia.jpg" does not exist, please check that its name is spelled correctly, that it has not been renamed or removed
file "File:Vista_aerea_di_Villa_Ambrogiana.jpg" does not exist, please check that its name is spelled correctly, that it has not been renamed or removed
etc.

So we may want to debug deeper (formatting of the uploaded list is often an issue) and see what else is afoot. Agree, that part struck me as odd, too. This is in a recently-contributed part of the code (FOSS is great), so I'll have to take a little more time to understand what's happening. So far this is the only campaign seeing this, I wonder if it's something as simple as a File: prefix issue. WMI[edit]

Ciao, ti rispondo qui per intenderci e per non andare OT nella pagina di discussione. Io non sono socio di WMI e probabilmente mai mi assocerò. Non condivido molte (se tutte) le scelte dell'associazione in termini di gestione di progetti, scelte del direttivo ed strategia a corto, medio e lungo termine. Di contro, collaboro quando trovo che lo scambio possa essere costruttivo e utile ai progetti Wikimedia (da lì la partecipazione come giurato a WML, anche perché di admin italiani su Commons pochi ce ne sono).

Più di una volta sono entrato in contatto col responsabile di WML per proporgli di integrare il sistema di autorizzazioni a OTRS o per almeno vagliarle prima, dato che - secondo me - il concorso era organizzato alla cazzo di cane e gestito ancora peggio. L'unica risposta che ho avuto è stata un "Si, vedremo". Il risultato è che le ultime edizioni sono state pessime (sia in qualità di contenuti che in termini organizzativi imho) e che ci troviamo davanti ad autorizzazioni evidentemente non accettabili su Commons. Se le cose non si possono fare bene, è meglio non farle, perché poi si fa perdere tempo agli admin (e agli utenti in genere), i quali hanno ben altro da fare che chiudere DR che avrebbero potuto essere evitate. Ruthven di admin it-N ce ne sono pochi perché di fondo le utenze italiane di lungo corso non hanno una cultura delle regole uguali per tutti ma del pensare che tutto si risolva "ad personam". Si potrebbe dibattere a lungo ma è già stato fatto off-wiki fra decine di utenze e sappiamo che non cambierà. Speriamo se ne assuma la resposabilità morale chi ha incoraggiato questo sistema, e chi indirettamente lo difende, ma non avverrà neanche questo.

Sta di fatto che quanto ho detto non riguarda essere o meno socio, ma attivarsi davvero dove serve a fare una differenza. Che sia gestito male è noto, ma è anche noto che chi viene pagato per farlo non ha alcun interesse a alzare lo standard, quindi forse andare dall'unica persona che gratis lo fa, ci perde ore, lo dice e si fa regolarmente trattre male e chiederle se "ha capito" non è una grande strategia, oltre a essere un vero e proprio off-topic (lo so che su itwikipedia non userebbe farlo notare e verrebbero cinque persone a dire che la colpa è a senso unico, ma appunto l'off-topic l'avrebbe creato quello). Ho dovuto iniziare io da solo a portare su commons le autorizzazioni e a rendere liberamente consultabile l'archivio, sono sempre io che deve farsi trattare male al telefono dallo sbucellone di turno che usa le pessime indicazioni di WMI per fare autorizzazioni sbagliate (chi si somiglia, si piglia), e così via. Una volta tanto si provasse a andare in pubblico a dire su queste piattaforme con quel tono a chi viene pagato per fare quel lavoro mediocremente e butta sabbia del motore in qualsiasi modo per evitare che lo standard aumenti. Quest'anno nonostante chiare indicazione di passare le autorizzazioni a me è stato fatto esattamente l'opposto. Morale della favole, roba inviata a fine giugno trascritta male a fine agosto senza dire nulla e tutto settembre passato a rifarne il più possibile per togliere chiese e interni di musei. Più di dieci mi pare ne ho duvute rifare. Così è ogni anno. Se prendessero i soldi per non fare nulla sarebbe meglio alle volte, almeno avrei e avremmo più tempo per far le cose meglio, ma non si sappia in giro che qualcuno fa meglio e gratis qualcosa.... anzi no andiamo in pubblico da quella persona a criticarla. Questo è la tua formazione itwikipedia, di fondo, e si vede. Non dovrebbe essere una sorpresa che ti ricordi che non serve a molto, ma sei libero da andare da qualcuno a farti dire il contrario.

Poi per carità si inventeranno che ciò che era bellissimo/bravissimo/competentissimo l'anno prima andrà di botto rifatto, basta che si paghi e alla fine non c'è problema, probabilmente sarà fatto comunque male perché standard non ce ne sono e non ce ne saranno. Quindi se le cose non si possono fare bene, è meglio non farle, perché poi si fa perdere tempo agli admin (e agli utenti in genere) è vero, ma vallo a dire in pubblico a chi davvero movimenta ore e ore di lavoro inutile e non a chi corre per correggerle e che quelle ore le perde già e ne farebbe volentieri a meno. Non è certo la peggiore delle autorizzazioni quella che vedi. Negli ultimi anni quasi ogni comunque sta infarcendo le liste di musei locali, da persona che passa ore a salvare il salvabile so benissimo che nessuno controlla niente. Comunque prova, va da chi viene pagato per farlo e esigi per non perdere tempo che dal prossimo anno come me telefoni a tutti i comuni e controlli tutti i musei, riscrivendo tutte le autroizzazioni in modo tale che siano il più possibile accurate. Tentar non nuoce, perché fermarsi a una regione che ha meno casi quando ne puoi fare 19 (escludendo la nostra) dove il controllo è fatto molto meno ? Non è ancora meno tempo perso? ciao alex! long time no see, dopo secoli ho messo mano ai libri che ho caricato di neera e alle loro categorie e mi sono reso conto che c'è un bel marasma, non so chi (spero non io, secoli or sono) ha creato una categoria per ciascun libro che include djvu e illustrazioni, su esempio di altre pagine sto invece dividendo i file, ai djvu metto la categoria books by ma mi chiedevo che fare con quelle categorie già create vedi qui Category:Neera ho provato con "Voci della notte" trasformandolo in Illustration from... ma non so se è il percorso corretto. quando hai tempo fammi sapere :) thanks bye Divudi85 (talk) 17:38, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Divudi85 sì c'è un marasma e se ricordi quando portai il tema chiedendo o discutendo standard o migliorie la comunità itwikisource fu "freddina". Vidi poi che quando portava il tema altri c'era più reattività (della serie che nemmeno si ricordavano quando avevo posto il problema anni o mesi prima) quindi ho abbandonato quella "battaglia". Risolvere queste cose richiede visione di insieme, tempo, pazienza, discussione piene di troll, implementarle per avere massa critica... alla fine uno lo va a fare dove è più semplice. Se c'è una comunità che ha riflettuto è quella in italiano, quindi dubito altri siano messi meglio. User talk:Tournasol7 in Italy is not possible to just take an image of a monument and release it under a CC license. In theory, the owner should give you clear permission to do so, it's a law introduced in the early 2000s (Decreto Urbani) that clarifies the matter in the most rigid way. I sounds rigid but It was partially intended to avoid for example that iconic landmarks are used improperly in adverts, and to make the collective cultural heritage properly managed in the interest of the population, but it is written in a way that every minor item might be included. Our concept of "piece of "cultural heritage" according to our bureaucracy is so vague that it can be even a single stamp.

It's very rare with old monuments but it can happen that they challenge your image in a court and the Italian justice system is painfully slow we want to avoid people to deal with it. This goes beyond FOP. of course an image of an old artifact or building uploaded an a server abroad might not be affected but if you organize a public competition (such as WLM) you simply cannot violate the rule. So the image of a statue in a park or a facade of the old church can be on Commons, but NOT on WLM Italy.

Some owners are more rigid than others. Civil parishes usually "free" monuments, except some very big iconic ones. The Central State could, but it's the exception, private owners might give permission but they are usually unaware and it takes time to find them one by one, and the Catholic church is usually against it (some dioceses are locally more tolerant).

I have started to upload here just a fraction of the permissions collected so far in Tuscany (the 2021 form is also in English, you will see). I will complete it over the year..., WMI is not uploading them here on Commons (they should, but logistically they are a little bit late), but in Tuscany we started last year. We have a big archive to share, and this way they also be used as references on Wikidata (see the use of each file). As you can see, I tried to squeeze the most out of this complex legal situation... I also have half a dozens of useless permission where institutions signed the form but removed the part about granting the commercial reuse (among them: dicoese of Grosseto or the embassy of Brazil...) --Alexmar983 (talk) 23:17, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ciao alex, sto sistemando su wikidata work e edition per dei "blocchi" di libri che abbiamo su wikisource (vado a sentimento, a volte un autore, a volte editore...) dopo di ciò vengo qui e collego il file alll'item e sistemo le categorie, ho creato Books by Libreria editrice Galli ma questa casa ha avuto altre "istanze", è preceduta da Giuseppe Galli Libraio-editore e succeduta da Casa editrice Galli. Immagino di dover fare le categorie per ciascuna ma come le collego? speravo di scopiazzare dai Treves qui su commons c'è solo Fratelli Treves mentre su wikidata è un macello, references circolari, campi usati come descrizione... vabbè. hai qualche suggerimento? thanks --Divudi85 (talk) 20:03, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

no worries, questo quello che ho fatto finora su commons poi mi sono spostato a tracciare le "dinastie" su wikidata. mi chiedo quale modello sia meglio usare sopratutto quando cambiano i nomi delle case editrici ma restano gli stessi editori. per esempio per bemporad ci sono le categorie legate ai due soggetti fisici Enrico Bemporad e Roberto Bemporad, come sottocategoria hanno Casa editrice R. Bemporad & figlio che a sua volta ha Books published by Casa editrice R. Bemporad & figlio. Quando si tratta di case più piccole però non so se regge, ho fatto una cosa simile per la Libreria Editrice Galli che però è preceduta dall'attività di Giuseppe Galli come persona/editore e seguita dalla denominazione Casa editrice Galli. Forse una soluzione sarebbe fare la categoria a Giuseppe Galli persona e dentro metterci books published by Giuseppe Galli editore, books published by Libreria editrice galli e books published by casa editrice galli? tentato una cosa del genere con Baldini & Castoldi visto che ha due denominazione estremamente simili... Way back in 2016 you suggested fences as a theme for the photo challenge. No one commented on it, which is unusual as it is a fabulous theme. Fences are easy to photograph and are in every country. User talk:A1Cafel that was a de minimis of a group image, if I recall correctly. They remain for years and than people randomly delete some of them here and there. The covers were in limited resolution ad one was not even an image, mostly consisting of a green background with some white line. So it's a group image, de minimis, mostly based on simple graphics and one partially cut image of limited resolution. The single topic has lost its intrinsic nature, it can be everyone of the issues (with a different cover) and the overall meaning will remain the same. The specific image is here not relevant at all. We are below the level of originality, because the concept is just the existence of the magazine and different issues of it,which per se is not copyrightable. The graphics ar not original, the phrases are short and the partially displayed work of the photographer is not relevant as well, in no way the author can prove that their specific creative work was crucial in creating the meaning of the final image. This was even more clear in another image that was deleted years ago where there were dozens of them. I remember I showed this one as well and nobody deleted it. Because this deletion are quite random.

So, it's fair to have them.. but at this point you will not agree and send me probably more links of generic concepts assuming I have not read them, but it still remains that such interpretation of derivative work is rigid and not effective in actually targeting the problems of derivative work related to real copyright issues (that is why it's a policy randomly applied after years.)

Ho associazione le seguenti foto: - questo è il "bottino di riunione"; - questo è il cosiddetto "casotto ottagonale", che si trova in adiacenza alle varie "edicole" delle sorgenti. Non mi esprimo sulla geolocalizzazione, perché trovandosi all'interno del bosco non ho modo di verificare con esattezza. Comunque sono stati inseriti esclusivamente elementi relativi alle sorgenti; ci sono altre opere lungo il percorso, all'interno del territorio comunale di Collesalvetti, di cui non trovo alcuna menzione (tra le foto caricate, ad esempio le arcate e i casotti della "Castellaccia"). Come ogni anno, e questo è il decimo anniversario, torna Wiki Loves Monuments, il concorso fotografico più grande al mondo che negli anni ha coinvolto quasi 50 nazioni e più di 15.000 persone e hanno prodotto un database di oltre 360.000 immagini di monumenti, patrimonio culturale dell’umanità intera a disposizione di tutti su Wikimedia Commons.

Con la tua partecipazione hai sostenuto lo sviluppo turistico del nostro Paese perché rende disponibili a tutti le sue bellezze. L’obiettivo è la valorizzazione dell’immenso patrimonio culturale italiano sul web. Le fotografie dei monumenti vengono condivise su Wikimedia Commons, il grande database di immagini di Wikipedia, con licenza libera CC-BY-SA. Wiki Loves Monuments contribuisce infatti a diffondere la filosofia di Wikimedia Italia e di tutti i progetti wiki, che si basano sulla libera condivisione della cultura.

L’Italia nelle sue prime 9 edizioni (dal 2012 al 2020) conta 145.000 immagini 15.000 monumenti, 2.000 fotografi, 2.000 enti. Uno dei 2.000 fotografi sei tu e quindi anche quest’anno non puoi mancare, partecipa!!!

Привіт!

З 1 по 30 вересня вже традиційно пройде українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»! В Україні цей конкурс пройде вже вдесяте. На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

Радимо ознайомитися із детальними правилами, а також із відповідями на часті питання. Як і того року — у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток» можна отримати 21 бал за фотографії об'єктів, якщо світлин цієї пам'ятки раніше не було завантажено.

Нагадаємо, що всі фотографії автоматично беруть участь у номінації «За найбільшу кількість сфотографованих пам’яток»; однак для того, щоб фото позмагалося у номінації «Найкраще фото», потрібно підтвердити це при завантаженні.

Цього року вперше будуть окремо виділені фото з повітря (дронами, квадрокоптерами тощо) — у спеціальній номінації «Аерофото». Для того, щоб робота потрапила на спецномінацію потрібно вибрати її у Завантажувачі.

Також вперше проводиться спеціальна номінація «Пам'ятки Подесення», знову пройдуть спецномінації «Відео», «Єврейська спадщина», «Млини», «Пам'ятки національно-визвольної боротьби» та «Via Regia Ukraine». Для участі світлин у цих спецномінаціях не потрібно обирати нічого у Завантажувачі — світлини зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

Ви можете користуватися тими новими списками, що вже є, якщо потрібно відшукати пам'ятку за новим поділом (деякі ОДА вже почали присилати у такому форматі), але пам'ятайте, що нові списки ще не є повними.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2021 in Toscana è in corso[edit]

Gazie alla preparazione e al vostro impegno, WLM è un buon successo in regione anche per questa edizione. Siamo stabilmente secondi per caricamenti a livello nazionale: qui e qui si possono consultare alcune statistiche. Al momento risultano meno reattive le province di Prato e di Grosseto.

Fra i nuovi beni inseriti nelle liste segnaliamo da parte dei comuni sempre più ampliamenti rispetto alle nuove adesioni, mentre continuano ad aggiungersi sempre più beni privati. Tutte le liberatorie annunciate da quest'anno anche su Instagram sono da ritenersi verificate. Potrebbero arrivare comuni a fine mese al momento ancora in via di approvazione.

Per quanto riguarda le foto panoramiche, vengono inviate direttamente nelle categorie dei comuni e richiedono spesso la creazione di varie sottocategorie; per questo motivo vi preghiamo di non inviare troppe foto simili, dovendole in seguito smistare a mano.

La campagna sui tre canali sociali (per Facebook sia pagina che gruppo) prevede come nel 2020 una serie divulgativa con le foto delle edizioni precedenti in bianco e nero (caricate qui su Commons) alternata a una serie sulle foto migliori dell'edizione 2021, inframmezzate con più infografiche generali. Ogni giorno solo su Twitter e Facebook (gruppo ToscanaWiki) viene inoltre postata una foto fra quelle giunte prediligendo variabilità di luogo e tema.

Нагадуємо, що до 30 вересня включно можна вантажити світлини та відео культурної спадщини України до національного етапу міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки»!

Зараз Україна посідає 3-є місце за кількістю завантажених світлин, поступаючись Російській Федерації та Німеччині. За першу половину місяця було завантажено світлини пам'яток із усіх регіонів України, але частина із них є дуже погано представлена. Севастополь зараз представлений тільки однією пам'яткою і одним фото, Крим — 12 пам'яток і 51 фото. Детальніше — у таблиці:

Цього року у конкурсі є вісім спеціальних номінацій:

«Аерофото» — для фото з повітря (зроблені дронами, квадрокоптерами тощо). Для того, щоб робота потрапила на спецномінацію потрібно вибрати її у Завантажувачі;
«Відео» — для відеосюжетів з пам'ятками;
«Єврейська спадщина» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом, і без нього;
«Млини» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом, і без нього;
«Пам'ятки національно-визвольної боротьби» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом, і без нього;
«Пам'ятки Подесення» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом, і без нього;
«Via Regia Ukraine» — для об'єктів із охоронним статусом 15 населених пунктів, що за цим маршрутом є.

Wiki Science Competition 2021 has started[edit]

Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017 and Wiki Science Competition 2019, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2021 has started in the whole world. It is now completed in Russia (active in May), but it's still open in almost all the other countries.

If you want to take part in WSC2021, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.

If you are an expert user, we remind you that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.

Please keep in mind that there is a new category this year, that is "astronomy".

If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase, please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2020.

User:Rhododendrites that is enough. it automatically inserts the national category. You could also simply insert the category manually, without template, but the template it's more elegant and standardized. Вітаємо! Ви отримуєте це повідомлення, бо брали участь в українській частині міжнародного конкурсу «Вікі любить пам’ятки» у минулі роки. Зараз організаційна команда конкурсу вирішує, як проводити його під час повномасштабної війни в Україні.

Ми розуміємо, що цього року ми не зможемо провести конкурс у звичному форматі — зокрема тому, що фотографування об'єктів в Україні зараз ускладнене міркуваннями безпеки. Однак наша місія із документування української культурної спадщини є як ніколи важливою, тому розглядаємо варіанти, як можна провести конкурс у обмеженому форматі.

Для цього хочемо запитати поради у спільноти конкурсу. Просимо приділити 5—7 хвилин (не пізніше середи, 6 липня), щоби висловити свою думку.

Цього року українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» пройде з 1 по 31 жовтня — через російське вторгнення в Україну також довелося змінити умови: тільки світлини зроблені до 23 лютого 2022 року включно будуть прийматися в основній частині конкурсу.

В Україні цей конкурс пройде вже водинадцяте. На конкурс можна подавати власні фото пам'яток історико-культурної спадщини України — і змагатися за призи. Більше можна прочитати за посиланням.

5 днів Вікі любить пам'ятки 2022 в Україні / 5 days of Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in Ukraine[edit]

Привіт!

Українська частина міжнародного фотоконкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки» вже почалася — за 5 днів фотозмагання Україна вийшла на 12-е місце за кількістю світлин у світі. Не кількістю єдиною, звісно, але гарно було б не надто сильно відстати від російської частини конкурсу, і хоча б потрапити до почесних топ-5.

Цього року вперше у конкурсі є спеціальна номінація «Фотоплівка» — на неї можна подавати скани світлин, зроблених на фотоплівці — мова може йти й про скани самої фотоплівки і скани з віддрукованих знімків із неї. Ця спецномінація покликана мотивувати оцифровувати й ділитися своїми фотоархівами: частина об'єктів уже виглядає дуже відмінно, а частина — більше не існує… Враховуючи сучасну ситуацію із російським вторгненням і можливість потенційної втрати таких фотоархівів, ця спецномінація — актуальна. Врахуйте, що для того, щоб світлина потрапила на спецномінацію, потрібно вибрати відповідне поле у Завантажувачі.

Автори світлин маловідомих пам'яток України зможуть позмагатися за відзнаку від «Україна Інкогніта».

Також уже традиційно пройде спецномінація «Відео» — для участі робіт у цій спецномінації не потрібно обирати нічого у Завантажувачі — роботи зараховуватимуться автоматично з відповідних списків.

Ще 3 дні! Вікі любить пам'ятки 2022 в Україні триває до 31 жовтня / Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in Ukraine[edit]

Привіт! Сподіваємося, що ви та ваша родина у безпеці. Нагадуємо, що залишилося три дні до завершення конкурсу «Вікі любить пам'ятки», і якщо у вас є можливість взяти участь у конкурсі цього року — долучайтеся!

Трохи статистики за результатами чотирьох тижнів конкурсу:

завантажено понад 11000 світлин, які зображують майже 3700 об’єктів культурної спадщини;
- з них фотографії 180 пам'яток — вперше подані на конкурс;
понад 500 світлин подано у спецномінації «Фотоплівка»;
вже більше 220 учасників та учасниць;
- з них більше 130 — зареєструвалися вже під час конкурсу.

Найменш представлені регіони — Севастополь (1 фото), Донецька (19), Миколаївська (20), Кіровоградська (58), Крим (72), Херсонська (74) та Луганська (80). Конкурсні списки за регіонами можна переглянути тут: списки пам'яток.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in Toscana[edit]

Ciao, un messaggio da alcune utenze del gruppo locale Toscana

L'edizione 2022 di Wiki Loves Monuments ha concluso giorni fa il suo processo selettivo.

Quest'anno non abbiamo segnalato in corso d'opera perché abbiamo avuto delle metriche di adesione molto più alte rispetto agli ultimi anni, quindi incentivare il caricamento sarebbe stato controproducente per i partecipanti più occasionali. Probabilmente il prossimo anno ci sarà un calo fisiologico, e conviene pertanto preparare i vostri scatti per il 2023.

I semifinalisti, come ogni edizione, sono invitati alla cerimonia di premiazione che quest'anno si terrà nel tardo pomeriggio di sabato 28 gennaio p.v. a Montespertoli (FI) presso il Museo della Vite e del Vino.

Qui i risultati finali, che saranno annunciati a breve sui canali sociali. Seguite quelli per ulteriori aggiornamenti.
